Goals are Good!

Credit: DailyCalligraphy.com

This quote is from a cool blog that my friend's daughter found called Daily Calligraphy. Lately my goal has been to get back to scrapbooking --- whether it be my own projects, encouraging others and planning scrapbook events. I am happy to say that things are coming together. My project for this week will be a 2 page layout for the 4th of July. I already have the title, but you will have to come back to see it!!!

As for encouraging others --- my cousin started scrapbooking today with the help of my mom and tia. She scrapbooked several cool things that she does --- including her Girl Scouts, soccer, softball and school talent show. I am so proud of her!

I also have 2 upcoming scrapbook events. One is a scrapbook day (July) at the Canyon Crest Country Club, and the other is a scrapbook retreat (September) at a cabin in Lake Arrowhead.

So, as you can tell I'm busy working on all these goals. And that makes me happy!

You take the cake (photo)

As promised last time... here are a few of my cake photos (Baby Shower, Birthday and Wedding). Cake photos are fun because they show the style/theme of the party, in general I will take 2-3 shots of cakes and any surrounding napkins and flowers to capture the scene of the celebration. So, do your best to "take the cake" photo for your scrapbook so it can be remembered in the future!

Swell inspiration of the Day

Swell inspiration of the Day
Everyone who knows me knows of my love for cupcakes. My dad visited last week and said --- where are the cupcakes? So, this blog post by Alexa Westerfield had to be re-posted. How can this relate to Scrapbooking --- easy --- whenever there is a celebration, I make sure to take a great photo of the cake, I will post some in my next blog. The cake is always an important part of the par-tay!!!

New Project: Family Graduation

I am always excited for a new project. Well, this week started great -- my cousin MARTIN SOMESLA, graduated from my alma mater (University of California, Riverside). This kid is now a young man with a degree -- and that degree would be a B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering. SO PROUD. It was so cool to see him graduate from the same school I graduated from. I could not contain my smiles for him and how good it felt to be back on campus to see him get his diploma. Here is our pic before graduation and his name in the grad program!!!

So, bring on the graduation caps, papers and embellishments!!!
