Glammed Up Crafty Chica Eco-Tote - I'm Ready to Shop in Style!

It's a great day today!  I'm so excited to share that my mentor Kathy Cano-Murillo, best known as the Crafty Chica, selected me to be a part of her Design Team Blogger Campaign for her latest product release at Michaels.

I met Kathy through Facebook and have been a student in her online Crafty Chica classroom for the past 2 summers.  Her class really did change my life and give me the inspiration, encouragement and proverbial kick in the pants to get my craft business running.

I'm so very thankful to even know this magnificent craft industry leader - and I'm beyond flattered to be a part of her Design Team.

For my Design Team project, I chose to "glam up" a Crafty Chica Eco-Tote.  I like to think of this tote as a stylish and affordable alternative to Tory Burch or a Seatbelt Bag...  Here is the before picture:
Ready to create with Crafty Chica products!
For the "glamming" to take place I used Duck Tape to cover the body of the tote.  I also used a Westcott Brand blade to precisely trim the tape that covers the body of the tote; and I used a Creative Memories self healing mat (size 12 by 12) to layout and cut the tape on.

The coloring was the best part.  I used 2 sets of the Crafty Chica Juicy Fabric Inks, and they were so easy and fun to color with!

Here is the project once I have applied the Duck Tape and started to color:

Next up is the finished product --- the Glammed up Crafty Chica Eco-Tote with its colorful and artistic "medallion":
Coloring is finished - so much fun and relaxing too!

Click here to see if a Michaels store in your area is carrying the Crafty Chica line.  I bought my Juicy Fabric Inks at the Riverside - Day Street location just this past weekend.

I received this complimentary product(s) from CraftyChica.com as part of the Crafty Chica Design Team, and was asked to share an original DIY project.

I hope you are inspired by this DIY project, you too can easily create a stylish bag like this based on your own inspiration from a purse or handbag you admire.

Please comment below on whether you have tried out any Crafty Chica products!

Thanks for stopping by and as always - Happy Scrapping!
