A couple of months ago, I met a great pair of ambitious woman - who call themselves the "Craft Ladies" on Twitter. Their handle is @2CraftLadies Through their "tweets", I learned that they were working on a Kickstarter Project that would fund their dream of having a craft show (think Martha Stewart with a Sex and the City twist...intriguing right?) So, as you can guess --- I wanted to help them.
As background, here is a basic overview of Kickstarter. Kickstarter allows people (like the Craft Ladies) to secure funding for their creative projects. The Craft Ladies, in this case, sought $7,000 in backers to fund their online craft show (8 episodes). Basically, the project is funded once enough backers pledge to fund the full project amount by a set deadline. I'm happy to say that the ladies met their funding goal and I am a proud backer of their project!
So, when I found out that the Craft Ladies were going to have a premiere event for Episode 1, I knew I had to go to - and I'm so glad I did. I went with my friend Lori and we had a blast. The evening included a comedy show and a viewing of the Craft Ladies Episode 1 "How to make a Toilet Paper Roll Owl". The event was held at Busby's East on Wilshire and the ladies pulled out their crafty genius to create a "Craft Up Your Name Tag Bar" and also had their Toilet Paper Roll Owls, fliers and white doilies decorating the bar.
